A former substitute teacher in Virginia was sentenced to the maximum of 30 years in prison for his convictions on two counts of interstate transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and two counts of possession of child pornography. The defendant befriended young males in the 13- to 16-year age range and lured them into engaging in sexual activity by offering them clothes, money, and other gifts.
JAN/15/02 - CHILD PORNOGRAPHY - EDCA - SENTENCING
A defendant was sentenced to 120 months (10 years) in prison and 3 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to all counts of a federal indictment charging him with publishing an advertisement to receive, exchange, distribute, and reproduce sexually explicit visual depictions of minors; transporting visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct; possession of materials containing images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct; and forfeiture. The defendant admitted that on July 7, 2000, he was operating an f-serve, or automatic image trader. The defendant’s f-serve provided Internet users access to images saved on his computer hard drive of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The defendant published an advertisement in an America On Line chatroom indicating he had “hardcore” preteen images available.
JAN/29/01 - CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE - ARIZONA
A defendant in Arizona was sentenced to 210 months (17®&Mac246; years) in prison after he pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual abuse of a 10-year-old child. The defendant was an officer ["roadman" or medicine man] in the Native American Church.
JAN/31/02 - CHILD EXPLOITATION - SDIN - SENTENCING
A defendant in Indiana was sentenced to 151 months (12years) imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to production and possession of child pornography. In 2001, the defendant used an 11-year-old minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct in order to produce Polaroid pictures.
FEB/4/02 - CHILD PORNOGRAPHY - MARYLAND - SENTENCING
A Maryland defendant was sentenced to 41 months (3years) in prison for possession of child pornography. A federal jury convicted the defendant in November 2001 after a 4-day trial. The case stemmed from a 1999 investigation by the Maryland State Police based on complaints that a computer user had placed an online profile on a website known as Matchmaker.com soliciting persons to have sex with a minor female child.
FEB/5/02 - CHILD PORNOGRAPHY - CDCA - SENTENCING
A defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison following his conviction after a bench trial for possessing and distributing thousands of images of child pornography. Among other things, the defendant was convicted of publishing an advertisement to receive, exchange, and distribute child pornography. He was also found guilty of four counts of shipping or transporting child pornography. A German law enforcement official saw the defendant’s advertisement on an Internet Relay Chat “channel” and was able to download images of child pornography from the defendant’s file server. In February 2000, federal agents executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home, and agents seized computer equipment that yielded approximately 5,000 images and digital movies of child pornography.
FEB/13/02 - CHILD PORNOGRAPHY - CONNECTICUT - SENTENCING
A former university professor was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his conviction on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. The defendant admitted to downloading on his office computer tens of thousands of graphic images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He also admitted possessing two video tapes of a minor child he videotaped.

A defendant in Tennessee was sentenced to 5 years of probation, 6 months of home confinement, and restitution of $50,228.10 after he pleaded guilty to failing to pay court-ordered child support.

A defendant was sentenced to 5 years of probation and restitution of $59,567.50 after pleading guilty to failing to pay court-ordered child support for his child in South Carolina.
FEB/27/02 - INTERNET ENTICEMENT / CHILD PORNOGRAPHY - NDOH - SENTENCING
A defendant in Georgia was sentenced to 135 months (11years) in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, for attempted enticement of a minor over the Internet; interstate transportation of child pornography in an automobile; sending child pornography by computer; and possession of child pornography. The court also ordered forfeiture of the defendant’s laptop computer, his digital camera, and his cellular telephone. The defendant used telephones and the Internet to send both adult and child pornography, as well as depictions of bestiality, to federal agents acting undercover as a 13-year-old girl. Agents arrested the defendant when he arrived for his rendevous with the girl.
APR/5/02 - SEXUAL COERCION OF A MINOR - SDTX - SENTENCING
A defendant was sentenced to 96 months (8years) in federal prison for sexual coercion of a minor. The defendant pleaded guilty in September 2001 to using the Internet to persuade a minor to engage in a sexual act. The evidence revealed that he began a long-term Internet relationship with a 13-year old girl, whom he eventually persuaded to perform a sexual act in front of a web cam. The images were transmitted over the Internet.
